    "When I wrote the song 'Coming Alive,' I felt like a caged animal releasing myself into freedom. I'd been hibernating in a log cabin in the mountains in complete isolation during spring and summer of 2020. In that, there was a feeling of how incredible it would be to get back into the world again.

    As I sang this and created the words I felt like I was able to travel inside of the song... in the music, the 12 string guitar and the melodies. While I was still in the log cabin making the first demo, which was sang right at midnight on my birthday, July 10th of 2020, something was moving within me and I felt like I was traveling inside of myself. This song helped me find something extraordinary within and I experienced a new place of self discovery. Two years later, here we are celebrating the release of the final album, including every song that was written after!

    "Coming Alive" is a song about getting back out into the wild. There is a sense of trusting the self that all will be well when taking massive leaps of faith, listening to the call of the soul and discovering all that you are. Can you feel it? Acclaimed singer-songwriter and celebrated instrumentalist
Christie Lenée announces Coming Alive, her sixth studio album to be released in hard copy Thursday, July 7th. Digital singles will drip feed over the next several months, with That Voice the first single releasing on Friday, August 5th to all streaming sites.

“Coming Alive reflects a feeling of self-empowerment and emerging back into the wild,” says Lenée. “I want listeners to be a part of this liberating sensation.” Driven by iconic guitar hooks and powerhouse vocal performances, Christie was excited to collaborate with Matthew Odmark (Jars of Clay) to co-produce an album that’s “more plugged in, but remaining true to my acoustic heart.” Her core band features drummer Keith Carlock (Steely Dan, Toto, Sting, John Mayer) and Grammy Award Winning bassist Adam Nitti (Kenny Loggins, Carrie Underwood, Susan Tedeschi).

The album opens with the title track Coming Alive, a joyous anthem to a life full of possibilities.That Voice follows with a very personal internal experience about the power of dismissing thoughts of self-doubt. This lead single is about breaking away from limiting beliefs and standing up to the voice who says “I’m not good enough,” and instead listening to the one who says “I can do anything.”

Lenée’s acoustic and electric guitar playing throughout Coming Alive will easily remind fans why she was awarded the titles of “International Fingerstyle Guitar Champion” in 2017, and “Acoustic Guitarist of the Year” 2019 (London, UK).

This July, Christie will begin her release tour in the West Coast USA. Since most shows will be performed solo, she will be sure to bring “an array of virtuosic overhand tapping, harmonic slapping, and classically inspired fingerstyle techniques,” as Guitar Player Magazine’s Jimmy Leslie noted from a recent show review. The tour will be filled with headlining shows starting in Sacramento, CA on July 7th and up the west coast, followed by Official Showcases at AmericanaFest (Nashville, TN) and Arts Northwest (Tacoma, WA).
